SWRNA is helping in our community.

Thank you, members in Clark, Cowlitz, Lewis, Pacific, Skamania, and Wahkiakum counties, for your hard work and dedication to the profession!

In 2020, SWRNA worked to build the foundation to be your local professional association. We did a lot behind the scenes—completing paperwork with the state, IRS, etc.—so that we could look toward 2021 as a period to develop programs to serve our members.

While we have been building the region’s structure, we have also had the opportunity to assist our members and the community. Last year, we developed the Buswell Grants, awarding four grants totaling $675 to aid members at PeaceHealth SW Medical Center local unit in need of financial assistance. The grant was made possible by a donation from the son of a retired RN who received care at the hospital.

We also made financial contributions to the Free Clinic of SW Washington and to the Clark College Foundation for nursing scholarships. In the future, we hope to expand to providing financial support to other educational institutions in the geographic area as well as providing for community resources.

The district/region was also represented at the WSNA Constituent Representative Council meetings. We joined with other regions in the state to conduct the first region-wide CE activity - “Transforming Trauma: Sustainable Practices” online workshop in March.

Thank you to all members for your support and your hard work!
